Built in 1873 and carefully restored, the mansion pairs original architecture with modern comfort while dining, accommodations, and event details are coordinated through one team.

Ceremonies gather on the front steps, receptions continue beneath the evening sky, and guests return indoors for cocktails or brunch in the parlor or Carriage House - all within the same setting. Originally built in 1873 for brickmaker John H. Cordts, Edgewood Mansion remains a central part of Hutton Brickyards and its Hudson Valley history.

FAQs

  • You have the option to secure a full campus buyout, ensuring yours is the only event taking place across all venue spaces. If you choose an Edgewood Mansion-only buyout, other guests may be using the Riverfront event spaces, and vice versa. Please note that our restaurants remain open to the public unless a separate restaurant buyout is arranged.

  • Vendors may access the property beginning at 7:00 AM each day of your rental for load-in, setup, and breakdown.

  • Hutton Brickyards provides the venue, accommodations, and beverage service. You will need to arrange rentals for all furniture and service ware, including tables, chairs, linens, china, glassware, and silverware, as well as hire your own caterers, servers, photographers, musicians, and additional vendors to bring your vision to life.

  • No. Hutton Brickyards holds the liquor license for the property. All alcohol must be purchased through and served by our staff.

  • While there are no specific restrictions, a fire extinguisher must be on hand at all times when open flames are in use.

  • Yes. The Edgewood Mansion grounds include four distinct areas:

    • Carriage House with 40x40 permanent tent pad

    • Carriage House Lawn

    • Gazebo Lawn

    • Edgewood Lawn + Porch

      This flexibility allows for both ceremony and reception on-site.

  • The Carriage House courtyard can accommodate up to 150 guests with a 40x40 frame tent. For larger weddings, an additional tent can be placed on the East Lawn, increasing capacity to 300 guests. Please note that with larger tents, you must also bring in additional restrooms and a generator.

  • The mansion’s interior may be used for events of up to 36 guests seated or 75 guests cocktail-style on the first floor. For larger parties, events must take place outdoors. Interior access will be limited to overnight guests staying in the mansion.

  • Absolutely. Your rental includes access from 7:00 AM Friday to 3:00 PM Sunday, allowing time to host additional events like a rehearsal dinner or farewell brunch.

  • No. Caterers must bring in a self-contained temporary kitchen setup.

  • Yes. While we offer a preferred vendor list based on local experience and past performance, you are welcome to bring your own vendors. All vendors must provide a Certificate of Insurance (COI) prior to arriving on-site.

  • No. We do not provide event coordination services. While a staff member will be available for logistical questions, a full-service event planner or production team is required from load-in through load-out.

  • Yes. In accordance with City of Kingston regulations:

    • Outdoor amplified music must end by 11:00 PM

    • Indoor music must end by 1:00 AM

  • Yes. The Edgewood Mansion event area includes 40 self-parking spaces including 2 EV charging stations. Parking is limited, so we recommend that you encourage guests to carpool or provide a shuttle for those not staying at the mansion.

  • The Carriage House includes two restrooms. For larger events, we recommend bringing in an additional restroom trailer.
