Hip Hop Soundbath
with Ofosu Jones-Quartey (Born I)

Mar
12 - 14

A Three-Day, Two-Night Workshop with Ofosu Jones-Quartey (Born I)

Hip-Hop Soundbath is a weekend of guided meditation, sound baths built from singing bowls and ambient textures, live lo-fi hip-hop performed in real time, and heart-centered conversation. Underneath all of it sits Ofosu's teaching in a single sentence: you are enough.

Few teachers could hold this room. Ofosu Jones-Quartey has taught meditation since 2004 at the Insight Meditation Society, Spirit Rock, and Omega, trained under Tara Brach and Jack Kornfield, and reaches millions daily as a voice of the Balance meditation app. As Born I, his music has passed 20 million streams and carried him from the Kennedy Center to the stage with the monastics of Plum Village.

Come for rest, creative inspiration, or community. No meditation or musical experience required, and all are welcome.

Know Before You Go

Community + Connection

The difference at Hutton Wellbeing is scale. At the big retreat centers you can be one of a hundred in the hall; here, programs are kept intentionally small, closer to a dinner party than a conference. You're never watching from the back row. Teachers share the same tables at meals, questions get answered by name, and the strangers from Friday's welcome dinner are usually the reason people come back.

The place does its part. Sessions meet in a century-old brick pavilion, meals are served with the river in view, and evenings end around the fire. In winter and spring the property runs at its quietest, which means a small group has the riverfront, the trails, and the saunas nearly to themselves.

  • Small groups, real time with teachers

  • Cabins with walls of glass to the river

  • 100 riverfront acres of nature and trails

  • The historic 1873 Edgewood Mansion

  • Farm-to-table meals by Chef Ed Harder

  • Waterfront saunas, massage by appointment

  • Two hours north of New York City
