Relax and Write
with Maia Danziger

A Three-Day, Two-Night Workshop with Maia Danziger
An Emmy Award-winning actress, founder of New York's Actors Company Theatre, and certified professional coach, Maia Danziger created Relax & Write from a simple observation: most of us write using only a fraction of what we have. Her method reaches the rest - the intuition and deeper knowing beneath the surface - through deep relaxation, guided meditation, sensory awareness, and the "observer self," then turns what surfaces into writing.
The weekend runs in rounds of meditation, writing, and sharing aloud, with only Maia responding, always looking for the gold in your work so you can build from strength.
Nobody is forced to read, and no piece goes unheard unless you want it that way. You leave with a repeatable practice for getting deep writing done.

Itinerary
-
Gather, meet the group, and hear a brief overview of the Relax & Write process, with room for questions. Then straight to it: a guided meditation to ease you into the creative unconscious, and a first writing session that belongs to you alone - no sharing expected, unless you choose to later in the weekend.
-
Morning begins with meditation and a writing session, and then the sharing starts. Only Maia responds, and what she's listening for is the gold in your work - the place of strength to build from. Nobody is forced to read, though it's highly recommended.
The afternoon runs the cycle again: a short break, then meditation, writing, and reading anew. -
The remaining pieces are read, and there's time to write once more, hearing as much work aloud as the morning allows.
Whatever's left, Maia arranges to hear privately afterward - no work goes unheard unless that's how you want it. And through it all, the great joy of creative connection. -
Maia is available for questions, support, and the connection that comes with creating alongside others.

Kingston is just under two hours from New York City, making it an easy weekend escape. Hop in the car and take the scenic drive up the Hudson Valley via the NY State Thruway, or leave the driving to Amtrak—trains run regularly from Penn Station to the Rhinecliff or Kingston station, with the ride taking about 90 minutes to two hours. Either way, you'll trade city streets for river views in no time.
Address: 132 Lindsley Avenue. Kingston, NY 12401
-
Complimentary on-site parking is included with your stay.
On-site gem cart service is available to help transport your luggage from the parking area to your cabin. An electric vehicle charging station is also provided on the property.

Dogs are welcome in our cabins!
Please note that Edgewood Mansion is a pet-free space, and dogs are not permitted inside actual program sessions.
Community + Connection
The difference at Hutton Wellbeing is scale. At the big retreat centers you can be one of a hundred in the hall; here, programs are kept intentionally small, closer to a dinner party than a conference. You're never watching from the back row. Teachers share the same tables at meals, questions get answered by name, and the strangers from Friday's welcome dinner are usually the reason people come back.
The place does its part. Sessions meet in a century-old brick pavilion, meals are served with the river in view, and evenings end around the fire. In winter and spring the property runs at its quietest, which means a small group has the riverfront, the trails, and the saunas nearly to themselves.
